Responsibilities

  • Develop data analysis solutions for complex business problems in collaboration with biostatisticians and statistical programmers, using tools such as R Shiny or Python-based web applications.
  • Ensure technical validity, compliance to the sponsor's standards, SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Test, debug and optimize applications to ensure that they work as expected, using both manual and automated testing techniques and provide documentation as per the sponsor's guidance.
  • Develop and maintain deployment and configuration instructions and ensure performance, security, and scalability of deployed applications.
  • Provide technical support to junior level programmers on day-to-day assigned activities. 
  • Ensure efficient communication with the sponsor team.
  • Work with the FSP leader to plan resources and timelines. 
  • Alert on challenges and manage changes in project plans. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree or equivalent in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Life Science, or related field. 
  • at least 6 years of programming experience (3+ for R, R Shiny) in analyzing and visualizing clinical trial data in the pharmaceutical industry, producing deliverables for submission.
  • Advanced statistical computing software skills (e.g., SAS, R and R Shiny Framework) in a clinical data environment across multiple therapeutic areas, thorough understanding of relational databases and their correlation to submission-ready database structure (CDISC data structure requirements).
  • Demonstrated programming experience and proficiency with R, R Shiny, tidyverse packages and R Markdown in building advanced R packages and modular Shiny apps (or other development stack).
  • Excellent knowledge of Good Programming Practices and CDISC standards.
  • Ability to perform, coordinate and oversee the preparation, execution, reporting and documentation of all programming deliverables of a project, with minimal supervision.  
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work as part of a global team.
