Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Medical Director to join our diverse and dynamic team. As a Senior Medical Director at ICON, you will play a pivotal role in leading the medical strategy and oversight of clinical trials, interpreting complex medical data, and contributing to the advancement of inNvative treatments and therapies.

Responsibilities

 

  • Serve as an advocate for the industry supporting precommercial and commercial therapies of pharmaceutical companies.
  • Maintain scientific expertise and knowledge of precommercial and commercial therapies, medical devices, clinical applications, medical treatment guidelines, and research methods.
  • Must stay abreast of relevant medical literature in a self-directed manner
  • Participate in relevant congresses and internal/external meetings
  • Share clinical insights and updates via educational sessions.
  • Responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with Health Care Providers (HCPs)and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) networks providing medical and scientific support
  • Leverage scientific and medical discussions to deepen focus on defining clinical treatment pathways
  • Delivers scientific presentations and education to HCP and facilitate of best practice scientific exchange
  • Identify and assess new sites and investigators
  • Engage with PIs and site Teams through visits and communications
  • Collaborate with the sponsor to drive study execution
  • Travel (approximately 70%)

Qualifications

 

  • Medical degree (MD) with specialization in Hematology, Anesthesiology or Surgery/Trauma Surgery
  • Extensive and solid Medical Affairs Experience (global and/or regional)
  • Deep understanding of the four basics of medical affairs: care engagement, scientifc communication, medical education and evidence generation.
  • Senior-level expertise in clinical research and development, with significant experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in benign hematology, bleeding disorders, and anticoagulation reversal.
  • Background in scientific engagement and medical affairs strategy.
  • Skilled in delivering clinical education and mapping KOLs.
  • Deep understanding of clinical trial design, conduct, and interpretation of results.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership in clinical development programs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Full available for site visits accross Brazil and Argentina, participation in congresses and sponsor meetings, and global travel as needed.
  • Fluent English and Portuguese; Advanced Spanish.
